Lindsay leads Richmond over Liberty 77-61

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Cedrick Lindsay scored 19 points and Darien Brothers added 17 to lead Richmond over Liberty 77-61 Wednesday night.

The Spiders (8-6) trailed 27-21 with 3:18 left in the first half before going on a 12-2 run to end the period.

Richmond outscored the Flames 44-32 in the second half and committed none of its six turnovers in the final 20 minutes.

Brothers, the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week who averaged 31.5 points in his last two games, was 6 of 9 from the field and 4 of 4 from the line. Richmond shot 52 percent (27 of 51), in snapping Liberty’s three-game win streak.

Josh Duinker added 12 points and Derrick Williams 11 for the Spiders.

Liberty was led by Jesse Sanders with 14 points and Antwan Burrus with 13. On Sanders’ first two points, he became the 22nd Liberty player to reach 1,000 career points.
