Man strangled in Salem OR motel room is identified

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon authorities have identified a 61-year-old man fatally strangled at a Salem-area motel. A 22-year-old man arrested at the scene has been arraigned on murder and burglary charges.

The Marion County district attorney’s office identified the victim Wednesday as Jeffrey Stow. His body was found Monday night after police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Holiday Lodge.

Hugh Edward Crow II appeared Wednesday in Marion County Circuit Court. He remains in the county jail with his next court appearance set for Jan. 13.
