NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Isaiah Wilkerson scored 21 points and New Jersey Institute of Technology pulled away in the second half to beat Fairleigh Dickinson 66-53 on Wednesday night.
Wilkerson was 6 of 12 from the field and 8 of 9 from the free throw line while the Highlanders shot only 35.8 percent (19 of 53) from the field.
NJIT broke a 30-30 tie with a 24-6 run over the first 10 minutes of the second half to lead 54-36. Minutes later the Highlanders grabbed their biggest lead at 59-40 after two free throws by Chris Flores with 6:21 to play.
Flores added 14 points, Lamar Kearse had 12 and PJ Miller scored 11 for NJIT (5-6), which had lost three of its previous four games.
Lonnie Robinson scored 12 points and Lonnie Hayes added 10 for the Knights (1-10), who have lost eight games in a row.
