KELSO, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a woman led them on a high speed, 40-mile chase through southwest Washington in a motor home.

The Longview Daily News reports that (http://is.gd/X0z2kd) the motor home was driving between 86 miles per hour to 44 miles per hour with its lights off on Interstate 5 Monday night, and hit a Ford Bronco in the Kelso area. The driver of that car was uninjured.

The patrol says motor home only stopped after spike strips deflated a tire.

But then the driver, Amy Renee Mason, jumped out of the car and proceeded to run toward oncoming traffic. She was quickly caught by troopers.

Troopers say she told them she was trying to get away from people who were chasing her, but she didn’t know who they were. She said she didn’t realize she hit another vehicle.
