Girls basketball: Grant 32, Evergreen 28

Evergreen suffered two losses Wednesday at the Nike Interstate Shootout. First, leading scoring Deja Nicholas suffered a knee injury in the third quarter and did not return.

Then the Plainsmen failed to convert a field goal in the fourth quarter and lost the game.

Evergreen led 26-25 after three quarters, but converted only 2 of 9 free throws in the final period. Sydney Holland led Evergreen with 11 points.

Evergreen will play Jefferson of Portland at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lake Oswego High School.
