Boys basketball: Heritage 62, Hermiston 61

The Timberwolves jumped out to a huge lead, then held off the Bulldogs for their first win of the season.

Timmy Hergert made 8 of 17 from the floor and was 8 of 10 from the free throw line, scoring 25 points to lead Heritage.

The Timberwolves led by as many as 23 points in the first half. Hermiston made it a 15-point game going into the final quarter, then held Heritage to four points in the fourth.

The Timberwolves (1-9) never relinquished the lead, though.

Hermiston scored the final eight points of the game but turned the ball over prior to getting up the go-ahead shot in the final second of the game.

Jake Dahlberg added 12 points and had four steals for Heritage.

Danny Dray had a team-high eight rebounds. Ezekial Wells led Heritage with four assists.
