Niagara routs Maryland-Baltimore County 92-75

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Marvin Jordan scored 23 points and Juan’ya Green added 21 as Niagara defeated Maryland-Baltimore County 92-75 on Wednesday night to snap a four-game losing streak at home.

It was the highest point total of the season for Niagara since a 103-92 win over Central Connecticut State in the season opener.

With the game tied 38-38, Niagara closed the first half on a 14-4 run. A 15-5 run midway through the second half, capped by a Jordan 3-pointer, gave Niagara its biggest lead of the game at 81-55 with 8:47 to play.

Jordan made six 3-pointers as the Purple Eagles were 13 of 27 from long range. Scooter Gillette added 11 points for the Purple Eagles (5-8).

Niagara forced 16 turnovers and had 12 steals while turning the ball over only seven times.

Ryan Cook scored a season-high 26 points to lead UMBC (1-11), which has lost four in a row.
