PITTSBURGH (AP) — Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger says he’ll be on the field Sunday for Pittsburgh’s regular season finale against the Cleveland Browns as long as he can deal with the pain of his sprained left ankle.
Roethlisberger, who sat out last Sunday’s win over St. Louis to rest his ankle, practiced again Thursday. Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians says he’s much more confident in Roethlisberger’s ability to play after he moved around better than he did during Wednesday’s practice.
The Steelers (11-4) remain in the hunt for the AFC North crown. To clinch it, they must beat Cleveland and hope the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Baltimore Ravens.
If Roethlisberger can’t play, Charlie Batch, who threw for 208 yards in Pittsburgh’s win over the Rams, is available.
