FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) — Kwame Vaughn scored 17 points and Cal State Fullerton held off UC Davis 65-64 in a Big West opener Thursday night.

Vaughn made two free throws with 4 seconds left that put the Titans up 65-61, so they could withstand Josh Ritchart’s 3-pointer at the buzzer.

D.J. Seeley scored 13, Orane Chin 11 and Andre Hardy 10 for the Titans (9-3), whose six-game winning streak is their longest in four years.

Ritchart made five 3-pointers among his 19 points for the Aggies (1-12). Harrison DuPont added 11 points. Alex Tiffin had 10 rebounds.

The Titans led 43-30 at intermission but missed 12 of their first 13 shots after the break. That allowed UC Davis to tie it at 59.

Vaughn hit a 3-pointer before the Aggies’ Tyrell Corbin cut it to 62-61. Seeley’s free throw put Fullerton up 63-61 with 25 seconds left. Then Vaughn hit his clutch foul shots.
