Ore. man killed in logging accident

SUTHERLIN, Ore. (AP) — A man has been killed in a logging accident in Southern Oregon.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Keone Peiper of Sutherlin was hit in the head by a log Wednesday morning while attaching cables to downed logs to winch them up to a loading area on private timberland outside Sutherlin.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
