EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Police in Eugene say they’ve arrested a 20-year-old man accused of shooting up a young family’s home in September 2010 in retaliation for complaints in the neighborhood about gang activity.

Police Sgt. Scott McKee tells the Register-Guard (http://bit.ly/usgxFv ) that a couple and their three children were driven from the neighborhood after shots fired into the side of the house flew through two bedrooms, one with a sleeping baby. Nobody was reported hurt.

McKee says a gang claimed a nearby park as turf, and neighbors complained to police of gunfire and vandalism.

Police said Barry Hasty Jr. was indicted Tuesday on menacing and other charges and arrested Wednesday.
