Letter: Learn more about angels

So what do the stories on people believing in angels and the No. 1 Broadway musical in America, “The Book of Mormon,” have in common? (Two stories published Dec. 25, “‘Mormon’ tops year in theater,” and “Polls finds majority of adults believe in angels.”)

Both have a central message about angels.

On the one hand, nearly 95 percent of Christians believe that “ethereal beings” are real, but most of them don’t know about the angel, by the name of Moroni, who appeared to Joseph Smith and gave him the plates from which the Book of Mormon was translated.

This book of scripture is a religious record which contains the account of the resurrected Christ appearing on this American continent to the ancient inhabitants, setting up a church, and teaching them his gospel.

The Bible, as a companion volume, alludes to this remarkable event in John 10:15-16 and Revelation 14:6-7.
