New Mexico beats Air Force 75-61

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) — Drew Gordon led four New Mexico players in double figures with a game-high 17 points and Steve Alford earned his 400th career victory as a college head coach as the Lobos defeated Air Force 75-61 Tuesday night.

Alford, in his 20th year of coaching at the collegiate ranks, is 400-216 in his career. He is the 40th active Division I coach to reach the milestone.

New Mexico (16-7, 4-4 Mountain West), coming off Saturday’s 86-77 victory over No. 8 BYU, forced 16 turnovers and dominated virtually every phase of the game in posting its eighth win in a row over Air Force.

Kendall Williams scored 16 points, A.J. Hardeman had 12 points and Chad Adams scored 10 for the Lobos.

Mike Fitzgerald led the Falcons (12-9, 3-5) with a career-high 13 points off the bench, and Tom Fow added 12 points.
