NEW YORK (AP) — Rangers forward Ruslan Fedotenko, already out with a separated shoulder, will be sidelined for three more weeks after undergoing an appendectomy.
The Rangers say Fedotenko had surgery Wednesday at the New York University Tisch Hospital in Manhattan. He has missed five games since he separated his shoulder during the second period of New York’s 7-0 win over Toronto on Jan. 19.
In 48 games this season, his first with the Rangers, the left wing, has nine goals and 10 assists. New York is 8-0-1 when he scored a goal and 12-2-2 when he registers a point.
The 32-year-old Fedotenko signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the Rangers in October. He is in his 10th NHL season.
