SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) — Ryan White scored 17 points and Texas State snapped a 10-game losing streak to Stephen F. Austin, defeating the Lumberjacks 66-61 Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (9-12, 4-3 Southland) hit 23 of 29 free throws to beat Stephen F. Austin for the first time since a 60-58 win on March 1, 2003. John Bowman added 13 points, Tony Bishop 11 and Eddie Rios 10 for Texas State, which is now 4-0 at home in conference play.

The Lumberjacks (12-7, 3-4) attempted only 11 free throws, making nine. That negated a 49 percent shooting performance from the field — compared to 42 percent for Texas State.

The Bobcats broke open a close game when Bishop scored on a dunk with 6:29 remaining, and Rios hit a 3-pointer at the 5:48 mark to give Texas State a 54-48 lead. Stephen F. Austin got no closer than three points the rest of the way.
