COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled prized defenseman and former first-round pick John Moore from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.
General manager Scott Howson announced the move on Thursday. Moore is expected to join the team in Detroit on Friday night.
Moore, 20, has three goals and 15 assists in 47 games with Springfield. Playing his first professional season, he leads club defensemen in assists and is tied for points. He was selected to play in the 2011 AHL all-star game. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Winnetka, Ill., was the Blue Jackets’ first pick (21st overall) in the 2009 draft.
