CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Noah States and Darryl Evans scored 12 points apiece and Furman held off The Citadel 59-55 on Thursday night to sweep the season series.

The Paladins (17-6, 9-3 Southern Conference), who have won six of their last seven, snapped the Bulldogs’ four-game winning streak.

Furman won the previous matchup 88-67 on Jan. 8.

The Paladins led 30-28 at halftime and increased the margin to 48-40 with 9:23 to go.

Back-to-back jumpers by The Citadel’s Cameron Wells made it 56-55 with 1:25 to go.

After Wells missed another jumper, Furman’s Amu Saaka hit two free throws and States made 1 of 2 to seal the win.
