Rays agree to minor league deal with Juan Cruz

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Right-hander Juan Cruz has agreed to a minor league contract with the Tampa Bay Rays and will join the team at spring training.

The 32-year-old Cruz made five relief appearances with the Kansas City Royals early last season. He also played for the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves, Oakland Athletics and Arizona Diamondbacks in a 10-year career. He is 32-35 with three saves and a 4.15 ERA in 348 appearances.

The deal was announced Thursday.
