Cypress Benefit Administrators said Thursday it has acquired Portland-based Western Benefits Inc. in a transaction that will expand the Appleton, Wis.-based health plan administrator’s service area to include Washington state.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition enables Cypress to deliver health plan options in the Pacific Northwest that are not currently available to Western Benefits’ clients, Tom Doney, president and co-founder of Cypress, said in a news release.

Otherwise, Western Benefits will see little change, with operations continuing from the company’s current offices.
