NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Norfolk has pulled its new city website after Seattle officials noticed more than a few similarities with their city’s website.

Norfolk’s website was unveiled earlier this week. It was replaced late Wednesday night with the old website.

Director of information technology Hap Cluff told The Virginian-Pilot that he took the new website down after his counterpart in Seattle told him the cities’ websites were too similar.

Cluff says Norfolk also borrowed elements from several other cities’ websites. He says his city didn’t violate any copyrights but the website will be redesigned.

Seattle spokesman Aaron Pickus told the newspaper that city officials are flattered that Norfolk officials liked Seattle’s website design.
