CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Tony Taylor scored 25 points and had nine assists, and George Washington held off a late second-half rally to beat Charlotte 73-67 on Saturday.

Joseph Katuka added 13 points for the Colonials (12-11, 5-4 Atlantic 10 Conference), who have won two of their last three conference games after losing three straight.

Derrio Green hit four 3-pointers and scored 15 of his 22 points over the final 2 minutes for the 49ers (10-13, 2-7), who cut a 15-point deficit down to 72-67 with 19 seconds remaining.

An’Juan Wilderness added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Jamar Briscoe had 13 points for Charlotte, which knocked off league-leading Xavier three days earlier.

But George Washington overcame a 3-for-17 effort from 3-point range by shooting 50.9 percent from the field and outrebounding Charlotte 33-30.
