Sam Houston State beats SE Louisiana 75-65

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Josten Crow and Gilberto Clavell scored 20 points each and Nafis Richardson added 19 as Sam Houston State stormed back in the second half to beat Southeastern Louisiana 75-65 on Saturday night.

Crow had nine rebounds, eight assists and four steals for the Bearkats (11-10, 4-4 Southland). Clavell had 10 rebounds.

Trent Hutchin had 32 points and made five 3-pointers for the Lions (10-10, 4-4).

Sam Houston State trailed by 13 points with 15:37 to play but outscored Southeastern Louisiana 41-18 the rest of the way. The Bearkats took control of the game with an 18-2 run over a second-half period of 4:10.

Three straight 3-pointers, two by Crow, turned a 58-53 deficit into a four-point lead. Crow’s three-point play capped the surge, which gave Sam Houston State a 71-60 advantage with 5:07 remaining.
