DETROIT (AP) — Chase Simon scored 28 points Saturday to pace Detroit to an 81-71 victory over Loyola of Chicago.

Simon went 3 of 6 from 3-point range for the Titans (13-12, 7-6 Horizon League), who manufactured their first winning streak since beating Loyola and Illinois-Chicago on Jan. 6-8.

LaMarcus Lowe, Ray McCallum and Eli Holman scored 10 points apiece, and Lowe grabbed nine rebounds.

Andy Polka scored 18 points to lead the Ramblers (13-11, 4-9), who lost their third in a row. Geoff McCammon hit three 3-pointers in scoring 15 points, Ben Averkamp added 12 and Gabe Kindred had 10.

Detroit shot 50.9 percent (27 of 53) and outrebounded Loyola 39-34.

The Titans led 41-37 at intermission, but Chim Kadima pulled Loyola within 53-52 with 13:40 left.

Detroit answered with Chris Blake’s 3-pointer and Simon’s three-point play for a 59-52 lead, and the Ramblers got no closer than four after that.
