LONDON (AP) — FIFA president Sepp Blatter has changed tack once again on the timing of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, telling the BBC “everything is settled for summer.”

Blatter had said recently that he expected the tournament will be shifted to the winter months to avoid the searing heat in the desert nation.

Blatter also insists that “all the 64 matches will be played in the territory of Qatar” following suggestions the tournament could be split between Gulf nations.

Any decision on moving the dates must first come from the local organizing committee.
