LANDOVER-SHARMEL — Linda Andersen helped her father, George Bales, celebrate his 103rd birthday on Jan. 25 in an adult family home in Portland. Her dad lived in Clark County for a short time before settling in Oregon. He photographed the Vanport flood during his career. When he was a youngster, he walked across the Columbia River when it was frozen. Linda’s husband, Scott, and about 30 other family and friends attended the party.
