Fresno State coasts past CS Bakersfield 79-49

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Ned Golubovic scored 14 points and Tim Steed added 13, leading Fresno State to a 79-49 nonconference victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Monday night.

Greg Smith had 12 points and 13 rebounds for Fresno State (11-12), which won its third straight game.

Alex Johnson scored 12 points and Stephon Carter had 11 points and six assists for Cal State Bakersfield (9-14). The Roadrunners shot 24.6 percent from the field and lost for the ninth time in 10 games.

The Bulldogs shot 50 percent and held a 52-26 rebounding advantage.

Steed scored all of his points in the first half. Fresno State led 43-28 at the break, and held the Roadrunners without a field goal for more than 5 minutes in one stretch after halftime to put the game out of reach.

Freshman guard Kevin Olekaibe, the Bulldogs’ leading scorer, sat out the game with a wrist injury.
