Davis lifts Kansas to upset of No. 22 Iowa State

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Carolyn Davis scored 31 points, including the winning basket with 2.7 seconds left in overtime, to give Kansas an 86-85 upset over No. 22 Iowa State on Wednesday night.

Davis had 20 points in the second half and led the Jayhawks (16-8 overall, 3-7 Big 12) with eight rebounds, helping Kansas salvage a victory after blowing a 15-point second-half lead.

Iowa State (16-7, 4-5) led by three with 42 seconds left in overtime, but Davis had two free throws and the winner.

Kansas led 70-59 with 6:50 left in the game, but Kelsey Bolte capped a Iowa State comeback, hitting a 3-pointer with 29 seconds left to make it 78-78. The game went into overtime after Kansas’ Monica Engelman missed a jumper with six seconds left.

Bolte led the Cyclones with 26 points, including 20 in the second half, and Hallie Christofferson added 21 points and eight rebounds.
