TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A man pleaded guilty to a murder charge Wednesday in Tacoma for a shooting that took the life of an 18-year-old following a graduation party.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports 20-year-old Xavier M. Magana of Tacoma faces a 20-year prison term when he is sentenced March 4.

Magana shot Alrick Hendricks in July 2009. Witnesses told police that Magana had challenged Hendricks to a fight at the party. The two reportedly had fought in the past with Hendricks prevailing.
