McKillop, Davidson hold off Wofford 67-58

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Brendan McKillop hit five 3-pointers and scored 16 points to lead Davidson to a 67-58 victory over Wofford on Wednesday night, extending the Wildcats’ winning streak to five games.

Davidson (13-12, 7-7 Southern conference) led 37-27 at halftime, but the Terriers opened the second half on a 16-2 run, capped by Kevin Giltner’s three-point play, to lead 43-39.

The Wildcats did not score their first second-half points until De’Mon Brooks’ layup with 13:52 left.

After a 3-pointer by Jake Cohen and two by McKillop pushed the Wildcats ahead 48-45, Wofford (13-12, 10-4) took its last lead at 50-48 on a Cameron Rundles 3 with 8:16 to go.

JP Kuhlman scored five straight points, starting with a three-point play, to push Davidson ahead for good.

Rundles and Jamar Diggs scored 13 points apiece for Wofford (13-12, 10-4), which came in having won three of its previous four.
