Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo pulls out 80-71 victory

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Shawn Lewis scored a season-high 25 points as Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo beat UC Irvine 80-71 on Thursday night.

It was the fourth straight win for the Mustangs (12-11, 7-4 Big West) and marked their longest winning streak in four seasons.

Will Donahue snagged a double-double for Cal Poly, scoring 13 points and pulling down a career-high 17 rebounds. David Hanson and Maliik Love added 14 points each for the Mustangs.

The Anteaters (10-15, 3-8) led 51-44 midway through the second half after scoring 10 straight points.

But the Mustangs answered with an 11-1 run and never trailed again.

Darren Moore led UC Irvine with 19 points while Patrick Rembert added 18, Mike Wilder 13 and Pavol Losonsky 11.
