OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Gov. Chris Gregoire has appointed Gerry O’Keefe as executive director of the Puget Sound Partnership.

O’Keefe has been the interim executive director of the state agency, after David Dicks resigned in December to accept a position at the University of Washington.

O’Keefe joined the partnership last March after he worked at the Department of Ecology and for the Grant County Public Utility District.

The agency was created in 2007 to clean up and protect Puget Sound.
