YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — A man suspected in the hit-and-run death of a 14-year-old Wapato girl surrendered at the Washington State Patrol office in Union Gap.

The patrol says 21-year-old Antonio V. Morfin of Yakima was jailed Thursday. Troopers believe he was driving a pickup truck that killed Shaniah L. Jackson and injured a 16-year-old friend Feb. 4 as they were crossing Highway 97 at Wapato.
