SE Louisiana defeats Northwestern State 76-68

NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Brandon Fortenberry scored 30 points and had nine assists to lead Southeastern Louisiana over Northwestern State 76-68 on Saturday.

Fortenberry was 8 of 14 from the field and 12 of 13 from the free-throw line as the Lions (12-10, 6-4 Southland Conference) won for the sixth straight time in the series.

Trent Hutchin, the Lions leading scorer (16.6 points per game), added 16 points and Gary Dixon had 12.

Southeastern Louisiana turned it over 13 times, but made up for the lost possessions by outrebounding the Demons 48-32.

The Lions shot 43.5 percent from 3-point range (10 of 23), led by four from Hutchin. Northwestern State was 4 of 14 from long range.

William Mosley led the Demons (15-11, 7-4) with 18 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks. Louis Ellis added 15 points, Will Pratt 13 and Devon Baker 12 for Northwestern State.
