MERCER ISLAND, Wash. (AP) — Bellevue, Wash., police say the search for a kayaker missing and presumed drowned in Lake Washington has been suspended. Police said Monday they believe the kayaker is 46-year-old Christopher Rominski of Bellevue.

Family members reported Rominski missing Saturday after he failed to return home from a kayak outing. His vehicle was found in a parking lot near a Bellevue beach.

A witness on shore saw someone fall out of a kayak into the lake during Saturday’s stormy weather, about 200 yards from land. The witness called for help. Rominski’s family says the kayak was his.

Police marine units with divers have searched the area for three days.
