MONTESANO, Wash. (AP) — Grays Harbor County commissioners voted against forming a three-county Chehalis River flood district.

KXRO reports the vote Monday followed a public hearing where some people said the district would better serve Thurston and Lewis counties. KBKW reports others worried about taxes a district would impose.

Commissioner Herb Welch says it may take another vote on the flood district after gathering more information.
