Free screenings assess childhood development

Camas/Washougal/Woodland — Area school districts are offering developmental screenings for children in their districts.

The Camas, Washougal and Woodland districts have appointments available for upcoming screening events. Children will be screened in speech, cognitive and motor development, hearing and vision.

Screening is free and results are confidential.

Here is information for each district’s screening events:

Washougal — 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 23. at Hathaway Elementary School, 630 24th St. Available to children 3 to 5 years old who have not entered kindergarten. Call Sally Bea, 954-3020, for additional information.

Camas: —March 9. Testing available for people from birth to 21 years. Call the special services department, 833-5570, to schedule an appointment.

Woodland — Testing offered throughout the school year for children 3 to 5 years old who have not entered kindergarten. Call 841-2720 for additional information.
