No. 15 Florida State hangs on to beat Wake 82-79

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) — Cierra Bravard had 21 points and 15 rebounds, and No. 15 Florida State held on to beat Wake Forest 82-79 on Thursday night.

Alexa Deluzio added 18 points for the Seminoles (21-5, 9-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who allowed most of a 15-point lead to slip away before winning their third straight.

Sandra Garcia scored 17 points for Wake Forest (12-15, 3-8). Chelsea Douglas added 13 and her layup with 2 seconds left pulled the Demon Deacons within three.

Lakevia Boykin had 12 points and Brittany Waters added 11 for Wake Forest, which has lost two straight and eight of 11.

Courtney Ward added 13 points for Florida State, which went up 46-31 on Bravard’s free throw with 18:17 left. Brooke Thomas’ 3-pointer roughly a minute later started Wake Forest’s comeback.
