FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — David Ortiz, Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford are together at spring training with the Boston Red Sox for the first time.

Ortiz, the designated hitter, and Crawford, the left fielder, showed up in camp Thursday two days before the first official full-squad workout. Gonzalez, the first baseman, has been there several days and is expected to get clearance to hit in about a week once his surgically repaired right shoulder is checked.

The Red Sox obtained Gonzalez in a trade with the San Diego Padres and signed Crawford as a free agent from the Tampa Bay Rays.

They join a lineup that will have second baseman Dustin Pedroia, third baseman Kevin Youkilis and center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury back after all were sidelined for extended periods last season.
