DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Practice for the GP2 Asia Series race in Bahrain has been canceled amid anti-government protests that have left four dead overnight.

The announcement is bound to raise further concerns about next month’s season-opening Formula One race at the same circuit which is slated for March 13 with F1 workers due to be in Bahrain 10 days earlier.

In a statement on the GP2 website, organizers say that Thursday’s track activity at the Bahrain International Circuit has been postponed until Friday. Medical staff normally stationed at the circuit “have been temporary called to the city’s hospitals in case of an emergency.”
