Wild’s Koivu leaves game with upper body injury

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Wild captain Mikko Koivu left Friday’s game against Anaheim after one period with an upper body injury.

Koivu was injured when he blocked a shot by Todd Marchant.

Koivu, who scored Minnesota’s first goal of the game, leads the Wild with 49 points, and is third on the team with 15 goals.

Minnesota leads Anaheim 4-1 after two periods.
