Louisiana-Monroe ends 9-game losing streak, 82-75

DENTON, Texas (AP) — Fred Brown scored 24 points and Tommie Sykes added a double-double as Louisiana-Monroe defeated North Texas 82-75 Saturday night to end a nine-game losing streak.

Sykes finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Warhawks (7-22, 2-13 Sun Belt), who had lost eight straight to the Mean Green.

Tristan Thompson led North Texas (17-9, 6-7) with 24 points and George Odufuwa had 11 points and 12 rebounds for his 13th double-double of the season.

Leading by two with less than 2 minutes remaining, Louisiana-Monroe scored seven straight points to go up 76-67 with 40 seconds to play, sealing the win.

The Warhawks outrebounded the Mean Green 36-31 and scored 22 points off their 15 turnovers.
