In Sunday’s column, I told my tale of the snow globe resting on my desk. Now, next to the shiny glass is a bottle of Tums. Those of you who have read my column over the years know that quite often I go by my gut feeling on what will be falling from the sky. Well, I have been trying to temper that feeling within but to no avail.
The ever-mounting stream of data including surface observations to our north, satellite photos and computer guidance tells me there will be snow falling from the skies this week. And yes, that is my gut feeling as well.
Just how much? Well that will depend on location and amount of moisture overhead. I won’t predict snow levels — such as 200 feet or 500 feet, as forecasts usually do. I think everyone will see some snow. And it will be cold.
Today will be the week’s warmest day, with temperatures falling as we round the corner into Wednesday. It should be an interesting scenario as the cold air battles the ever-rising height of the sun and of course the soon-to-be changing of the seasons.
