Evans, Saint Louis dismantle Chicago State 90-52

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Freshman Dwayne Evans had his fifth double-double and Saint Louis never trailed in a 90-52 victory over Chicago State on Tuesday night.

Evans had 16 points and a game-high 17 rebounds for the Billikens (10-17), who won their second in a row. Evans also blocked three shots.

Mike McCall hit two 3-pointers among his 16 points, Brian Conklin scored 14 and Rob Loe added 10 for Saint Louis, which was tied only at 6-6.

Chicago State’s Carl Montgomery took game scoring honors with 22 points before fouling out. Hajji Martin and Jonathon Montgomery contributed 10 points each for the Cougars (6-22), who have lost five in a row and eight of their last nine.

Saint Louis shot 51.4 percent (36 of 70) to Chicago State’s 31.0 percent (18 of 58) and won the rebounding battle 50-27.

The Billikens led 38-21 at halftime. They lead the series 9-0.
