SEATTLE (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of Washington on Wednesday for widespread snow to be followed Thursday by a hard freeze.
Forecasters say snow accumulations will vary but 3-to-6 inches are possible in the Western Washington lowlands, including Seattle. Forecasters also expect 3-to-6 inches in most of Eastern Washington, except for areas in the south-central part of the state.
The Weather Service says the snow will be followed by winds and a hard freeze on Thursday with temperatures in Eastern Washington falling into single digits.
Up to a foot of snow is forecast Wednesday in the Olympics and Cascades. Travel has already been difficult across I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass which was closed for a time overnight for avalanche control.
