MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, Wash. (AP) — A Mountlake Terrace couple were sitting in their living room Feb. 9 when they heard a bang on their roof and deck.

The Daily Herald of Everett reports Mark and Theresa Kauffman found a mysterious thin panel of metal, 18-by-23 inches, black on one side and white on another.

They checked with nearby Paine Field, but Airport Director Dave Waggoner says aircraft maintenance people say it didn’t come off an airplane.
