TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Angels pitching coach Mike Butcher said Friday that he is cancer free. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer six weeks ago.
Butcher, who has participating in limited coaching duties so far this spring, had his thyroid gland and 14 lymph nodes removed on Feb. 10.
He said that a decision on his treatment would be made next month and that he was told he would not need chemotherapy.
