Milwaukee defeats Youngstown State 94-87 in OT

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Anthony Hill and Ja’Rob McCallum scored 23 points apiece as Wisconsin-Milwaukee defeated Youngstown State 94-87 in overtime Saturday to clinch the top seed in the Horizon League tournament.

The Panthers (18-12, 13-5) earned a bye until the semifinals, which they will host March 5.

Blake Allen scored 26 points to pace the Penguins (9-20, 2-16), who will play on the road in the first round Tuesday.

McCallum hit a 3-pointer 29 seconds into overtime and Kaylon Williams’ 3-pointer made it 88-82 Milwaukee with 1:53 remaining.

There were 21 ties and 18 lead changes. The game was tied 41-41 at halftime and 82-82 after regulation.

Tony Meier scored 18 points, Tone Boyle 16 and Williams had 11 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for Milwaukee, which got all but three points from its starters.

Vytas Sulskis added 18 points and Damian Eargle 17 for Youngstown State.
