Vancouver — Clark County’s annual Traditional Native American Pow Wow will be held from noon to 10:30 p.m. March 5 at Covington Middle School.

The extended event, free and open to the public, celebrates the culture of Native Americans and is sponsored by the Evergreen, Vancouver and Battle Ground school districts.

It will feature two grand entrances, at 1 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. Dancers will represent various tribes throughout the Northwest. Former Evergreen Public Schools employee Gary Wallace will be honored at 3 p.m. for his dedication and support of the Native American Education Program during his 41 years with the district.

The program’s parent committee will prepare traditional foods, including fry bread and Indian tacos. Other items will be on sale to assist fundraising, and several Northwest vendors will sell Native American arts and crafts.

Covington is at 11200 N.E. Rosewood Road, in Vancouver.
