DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Sixth-seeded Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia defeated Japan’s Kei Nishikori 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday to reach the final at the Delray Beach championships.

This will be the 52nd-ranked Tipsarevic’s third career final appearance. He also reached the final at Moscow in 2009 and ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2010, but has yet to win his first career title.

Tipsarevic, who was a member of the winning 2010 Serbian Davis Cup team, has only dropped one set in four matches played this week.

Tipsarevic took advantage of both break-point opportunities in the match.

Tipsarevic also beat Nishikori, the 2008 Delray Beach champion, in the Chennai quarterfinals last month.

Tipsarevic will play the winner of Saturday night’s semifinal between Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina, the 2009 U.S. Open champion, and second-seeded Mardy Fish, the 2009 Delray Beach champion.
