OREM, Utah (AP) — Ben Aird scored 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as Utah Valley defeated Houston Baptist 67-62 on Saturday night, clinching at least a share of the Great West Conference regular-season title.

Aird connected on 9 of 12 shots from the field for the Wolverines (18-10, 10-1 Great West), who also got 14 points from Isiah Williams and 12 points and 13 rebounds from Geddes Robinson.

Utah Valley, which led 32-30 at the half, stretched the lead to as many as nine in the second half and hung on.

Andrew Gonzalez led the Huskies (4-23, 2-8) with 16 points and Fred Hinnenkamp and Shawn Echols added 13 points each.

Utah Valley is one game ahead of New Jersey Tech (8-2) in the loss column in league play, and the teams square off in New Jersey on Thursday in the regular-season finale for the Wolverines.
